FAQ, Fees & Contact

Everything you might want to know before getting in touch.

How long is each session?

Sessions typically last 50 minutes for individual therapy.

Can therapy be conducted online?

Yes, I offer both in-person and online therapy. I understand that attending therapy in person may not always be feasible due to location, schedule, or other factors. Online sessions can be just as effective and offer flexibility. I use secure video platforms to ensure your privacy and a smooth, confidential experience.

How many therapy sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on your specific needs and goals. Some clients come for short-term support (e.g., a few sessions to navigate a particular challenge), while others may benefit from longer-term therapy for deeper, more complex issues. In our initial session, we’ll discuss your objectives, and over time, we’ll evaluate your progress together to determine the right frequency and duration of sessions for you.

What can I expect during my first session?

In the first session, we’ll spend time getting to know one another, and I’ll gather information about the reasons you’re seeking therapy. I will ask about your current struggles, past experiences, and any other information you think is important for me to know. This is also your chance to ask any questions about the therapy process and to clarify how I work. Our first session is a collaborative exploration, where we start building the foundation for our work together.

Do you work with children who have special needs or neurodivergence?

Yes, I have experience working with children and young people who are neurodivergent, including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other developmental or learning differences. Therapy will be tailored to suit their unique needs and abilities. For example, I might use play therapy, sand trays, or other creative media to engage children in ways that are comfortable and developmentally appropriate for them. If your child is neurodivergent, we can work together to ensure the approach resonates with them and supports their emotional growth.

What happens if I miss a session or need to cancel?

All I ask is that you let me know and I will do my best to reschedule for you or resume the following week.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is a core part of the therapeutic process. Everything you share with me during therapy is kept strictly confidential, with the following exceptions:

If I believe there is a risk of harm to you or someone else, I may need to break confidentiality to ensure safety. If required by law or legal proceedings, confidentiality may be broken (this is rare). These exceptions will always be discussed with you beforehand. You can feel assured that your privacy and trust are my top priority throughout the therapeutic process.

When working with children and young people, confidentiality is treated with great care, but there are important limits. In line with BACP guidance, I will always aim to create a safe and trusting space where a young person feels heard and respected. However, if a child discloses something that suggests they or someone else is at risk of serious harm, I have a legal and ethical duty to share this information with the appropriate safeguarding authorities. Wherever possible, I will discuss this with the young person (and their parent or carer, if appropriate) before taking any further steps.

How do I book a session?

You can book an initial session following this link to my online booking calendar or by contacting me directly through my website or by phone or email.

How often should I come to therapy?

The frequency of sessions depends on your goals, availability, and what we are working on. Generally, I recommend weekly or fortnightly sessions, especially in the early stages of therapy. As progress is made, we can discuss whether to reduce the frequency or maintain regular check-ins. The goal is to ensure we’re consistently addressing your needs and making steady progress.

Fees

Every journey begins with a low-cost initial session, so we can meet, talk things through, and see whether we feel like the right fit.

Low-cost initial session

A low-cost initial 90-minute session held online, available for couples, relationships, individuals and young people — or parents, in the case of a child under 16.

Once the initial session is complete, you’re warmly invited to take a few days to consider whether you’d like to go ahead. If it feels right, we’ll then book you in for a regular weekly appointment time, either face-to-face or online.

Ongoing weekly sessions

It is best to have weekly therapy appointments if possible.
